I am using Windows 8 (not 8.1) right now. I think I have disabled most auto-updates (do not try to tell me that this unwise), but sometimes some updates sneak through. I have been in a cycle where the update doesn't install and then it gets reverted, and this has gone on several times over the past few months. Just today, I saw a message that said Windows would restart later to install updates; if I restart(ed) my computer manually before then, the updates would still try to be installed. I would like to know how, whenever I see that message, I an undo that effect so that my laptop does not try to install Windows updates on the next restart because it takes so long for it to process.
