Like usual a broken windows update has damaged one of my computers. At first the system failed to boot and could not do a repair due ot bitlocker, via recovery environment i managed to turn bitlocker off on the drive. Automatic repair does nothing, and returns no error.
The C drive of the windows install is readable and writable. I have managed to backup my files, but have several programs which regetting the installer and licence would be extremely difficult.
I then attempted to do sfc /scannow, which informed me that corrupted files were found and fixed, however after rebooting the issue persits. I then tried doing bootrec /fixmbr which worked, however bootrec /fixboot returns access denied. Bootrec /scanos will fail to identify any windows installs, even when i am CDd into the windows directory of the OS i wish to recover.
I have tried rebuilding the efi bootloader then according to thishttps://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-bootrec-fixboot-access-is-denied-error-on-windows-10
However it just said the efi does not point to a valid operating system. Which i guess is constant with scanos saying no OS is there.
Next i tried doing DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image however all DISM commands will return error 87 and say the option is unknown.
System restore will fail due to a dropbox file which is a shame.
Is there any way i can either repair this install, or fix the bootloader to point to the existing C:\Windows install.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
