I am currently testing the 10-gigabit network speed between my Mac Studio, equipped with a 10-gigabit Ethernet port, and my PC, which acts as a NAS and also features a 10-gigabit Ethernet card.
I've configured static IP addresses on both machines, enabled discoverability on private and public networks, and disabled the firewall. Despite both computers being on the same subnet, I am facing an issue.
While I can successfully ping my Mac from the PC, the connection doesn't work in the reverse direction (from Mac to PC). I am using a direct Ethernet cable connection without a router or switch.
On my PC, there are two Ethernet connections – one for internet access and the other directly linked to my Mac. Strangely, I am unable to ping the connection associated with my Mac, whereas the connection related to the internet responds well to ping requests.
This behavior persists even when I swap these two connections. Any insights into what might be causing this issue?
